EAST COST TOUR

This interesting day trip takes you to see the majestic Hajar Mountains along the east coast, a fabled landscape dotted with valleys running down to the sea.

On the way to the town on Fujairah, the first stop is a visit to the Friday Market. Here you can find traditional items including pottery and carpets. We continue to the little village of Masafi, where most of the main water reservoirs (underground) in the country are to be found.

During the drive through the mountains we stop at the highest point for a view across one of the largest “Wadis” (dried up riverbeds). Along the untouched coastline you will also have the opportunity to swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean and do a little sunbathing.

After lunch the tour continues through various fishing villages to the Bidaya Mosque, the oldest mosque in the country. The old Fujairah Fort and the Bitna Fort, both of which once monitored the mountain passes, then complete this culturally and scenically very interesting tour.
